Review and Approval of Minutes from SSC Meeting May 6, 2025.

- Sara Harris reviewed the roles and duties of SSC
- Discussed updating the SPSA plan with how to address chronic absenteeism
- Members voted to approve the addition of the MDUSD Instructional Continuity Plan to the current Safety Plan for school year 2025-2026

Old Business
- School Initiatives: Curriculum, Data- CAASPP, and Data Protocols
- SPSA- Updated Goals
- Safety Plan- Quick Updates
- Would like to get more staff CPR certified trained and the district has approved
- Window coverings are going to start being installed over break
New Business
- Open Forum - Introduction of members, questions related to safety plan, and conference schedule question
- SPSA Easy Review: breaking down goals and areas of emphasis
- Comprehensive SPSA Full Plan Review - to be reviewed by council by 12/12/25
- Goals are more data driven and what assessments are being used to drive these goals
- Climate and Culture goal updated to address chronic absenteeism and suspensions - more effort for diversity and inclusivity
- Staff development will focus on culture in the classroom and emphasizing data use to share with parents and holding staff more accountable to objective data use
- Administration will continue to communicate with parents on what data they should expect from their teachers and provide support if needed

- SPSA- Updated Goals
- Safety Plan- Quick Updates
- Would like to get more staff CPR certified trained and the district has approved (update: signed up for renewals)
- Window coverings are going to start being installed over break (98% completed)
New Business
- Introduction of Clayton Police Chief - Jeremy Crone
- Discussed partnering with local schools
- Mrs. Keogh discussed park monitoring after school
- Discussed walkie talkie and master key use for police
- Safety Plan 2025-2026
- Discuss some changes, mostly to ed code and suspension and harassment policies
- Emphasis on kids feeling safe at school and the 2 components of the plan
- Preparedness and Crisis Response Plan updated
- Staff that are due for CPR are signed up for renewal and more staff being certified
- Continue to do drills and exercises as scheduled
- Will have one week to review the plan and motion to pass - reminder email by Monday
