5th Grade Outdoor Education

What is Outdoor Ed?

Outdoor Education is a four-day, offsite field trip that is planned each year for 5th graders. The camp teaches a hands-on science curriculum and social skills, and provides a taste of the responsibility and independence students will need when they advance to middle school.

Outdoor education is a fun, enriching experience that kids look forward to, and that they will never forget!

What: Outdoor Education

When: October 4-7, 2022

Where: Exploring New Horizons - Sempervirens

How: Transportation, lodging, and food are built into the cost. Transportation will be by charter buses

How much: For your information, the total cost per child is $500.00. All donations are voluntary. If sufficient funds are not raised we may need to cancel the camp trip. 

Other key information:

  • Chaperones: 1-2 per 10 students
  • Counselors are high school students (Juniors and Seniors)
  • Students stay with a buddy of their choice in cabins
  • Bring any medications to your teacher the last week in September
  • Separate boys/girls cabins, private showers
